  • Global 16 Days campaign starts on UN Day Opposing Violence against Women (25th November 2018)
  • Women’s Aid purple ribbon awareness campaign encourages people to #BelieveSurvivors of domestic violence.
  • The campaign challenges pervasive myths in society which minimizes women’s experience of abuse and blames the victim.
  • Communities across the country are coming together to raise awareness with 100+ events taking place over the next two weeks.

Believe Survivors

The 16 Days Campaign Opposing Violence against Women is an important opportunity to raise awareness and call for changes at an international, national and local level.  Groups from all over Ireland and from countries all over the world stand united during this campaign period running from the 25th of November to the 10th of December every year, to highlight violence against women and to send a strong message out to our communities that this is not acceptable, that women and children have a right to live lives free from violence and abuse and fear within their own homes and in their relationships. That is the vision that we share.
