Women's stories

Women's Aid supports thousands of women and their children to escape and survive domestic violence every year. We know that many women go on to live safe, violence-free and happy lives.

Read some of their stories below and watch the "Women's Voices" video here.

You should know that these accounts contain some upsetting detail of women's experiences of violence and abuse. If you are being hurt or abused yourself - or if you know someone who is - you may not wish to read on.

If this is your situation please phone our National Freephone Helpline 1800 341 900, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
