UN Day Opposing Violence against Women Seminar on Femicide in Ireland

20 years of the Women's Aid Femicide Monitoring Project Launch and Seminar

Women's Aid launched the Femicide Watch Report 1996-2016 followed by seminar on responding to domestic violence and femicide in Ireland on 25th November 2016.  It was officially launched by Minister Regina Doherty, T.D., Government Chief Whip.

The seminar speakers included: Margaret Martin (Director, Women’s Aid), Linnea Dunne (writer and editor), Brenda Power (journalist and broadcaster), Don Hennessy (author of ‘How He Gets into Her Head) and Detective Superintendent Michael Daly (Garda National Protective Service Bureau).

The event was chaired by Keelin Shanley, RTE Broadcaster.

The seminar included an Exhibition and National Moment of Remembrance for women murdered in Ireland.
