Public Information Session: Independent Status - the immigration implications of relationship breakdown

This event was held by the Domestic Violence Coalition, working to protect migrant and minority ethnic women from domestic violence.

Information was provided on the immigration implications following separation or divorce of Non-EEA spouses and partners of Irish nationals, EU nationals and others (students, work permit holders, dependent family members of persons with leave to remain etc), including information on domestic violence situations.

Speakers included Sinead Harrison, Support Services Manager, Women's Aid, the Immigrant Council of Ireland, The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS), and Akidwa. Presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
