Women's Aid Charity Shops Appeal for "Something Old"

31 Oct 2013

The Women’s Aid Charity Shops are asking all brides who have completed their walk up the aisle to pass along that “something old” to support Women’s Aid. A donated wedding dress will provide a beautiful gown at an affordable price for a new bride-to-be, and raise funds to help make many other women safe.

Denise Cruickshank, manager of the Aungier Street shop, said : “We’re delighted with a brilliant initial response to our appeal, and grateful to Costume boutique, who have kindly donated a beautiful Marchesa notte dress to start us off.”

She continued, “We are appealing to individuals as well as boutiques. Free up that space on top of the wardrobe. Clear out your attic, throw it all in to a bag and drop it into our friendly volunteers in the Women’s Aid charity shops. We need your support helping women escape and survive domestic abuse.”

The Women’s Aid Charity Shops in Aungier Street and Dundrum raise much needed funds for the Women’s Aid National Freephone Helpline (1800 341 900) and Support Services which help women experiencing domestic violence.
