Women's Voices: A Photo Essay featuring Survivors of Domestic Violence

Posted on November 29, 2016 at 02:27 PM

"Women's Voices" is a photo essay featuring individual stories from survivors of domestic abuse. Each woman tells her story anonymously, sharing her own personal experience of the abuse she suffered. By telling their stories, the survivors hope that those in similar situations reach out, ask for help, and seek support.

As part of the 16 Days of Action Campaign (25 November - 10 December 2016), Women's Aid will post a personal story from a survivor each day. These stories are stark and harrowing, and show the real human lives affected by abusive relationships.

You are invited to share these stories to spread awareness of domestic violence against women and children.  You can see the full series as they appear here.

Women's Aid has been working for over forty years helping to make women and children safe from situations like these. We encourage anyone who is affected by domestic abuse or who is concerned about a loved one to call our 24hr National Freephone Helpline 1800 341 900, open 7 days a week.
