Information & support
Women's Aid provides an information service along with follow-on post training support to groups implementing the Code of Practice and to support Family Resource Centres and the Local and Community Development Programme to participate in the 16 Days of Action Opposing Violence against W locally in their communities.
We do this through:
- Providing an information service on all aspects of domestic violence and responding to domestic violence in the community
- The National Freephone Helpline 1800 341 900 is a resource for professionals supporting women as well as the woman herself, and can refer to local refuges and support services.
- Providing support to centres and projects campaigning and working on the issue
- Linking centres and projects to services locally in their community
- Providing post-training support in addressing challenges and questions around the implementation of the Code of Practice & follow-on advice and support after the training
- Providing information, leaflets, posters, statistics, other resources and support around the 16 Days Campaign
- Providing campaign resources on dating violence through the 2in2u Campaign
