Several groups have lent their time and talents to Women's Aid recently. We greatly appreciate their efforts as these events provide not only donations but also serve to promote our Helpline and services.
Christmas Bake Off
Thanks to Ivana Geregova and her catering team at Eurest, who baked and decorated over 1,000 cookies and brownies and raised nearly €800 for the National Freephone Helpline.
Waterford Mini Marathon
Helena Barrett is ran the Waterford Half Marathon and raising sponsorship for Women's Aid.
Holistic Fair
Michela Sborchia Venturini donated a portion of her proceeds from Angel Readings and Core Healings to Women's Aid.
Circumnavigation of Ireland
Barry Coscoran bravely took on the epic feat of the circumnavigation of Ireland by kayak. He has raised over €1,500.00 for Women's Aid and you can still sponsor him at http://www.mycharity.ie/event/baz_coscorans_event/
Malahide Lunch
Ger Ennis, in conjunction with a group of local business women in Malahide, held a fundraising lunch at Cruzzo in Malahide. The lunch was attended by 150 people and raised over €10,000 for the National Freephone Helpline.
Dublin University Ladies Boating Club
The Dublin University Ladies Boating Club donated a portion of the proceeds from their bag-packing fundraising day for the club to Women's Aid.
The Zoryanna
The Zoryanna put on the show Nouveau Vaudeville at Tripod, donating a portion of the proceeds and holding a raffle on the night for Women's Aid.
Bluepatch Productions
Bluepatch Productions presented Medea Redux by Neil LaBute at the Boys School, Smock Alley to mark International Women's Day. They generously donated all of their proceeds to Women's Aid.
Afterwards
Curators Lourdes Viso and Róisín Russell brought Afterwards, an exhibition of works by Brazilian artist Beth Moyses, to the Sycamore in Dublin. This was the first showing of Beth Moyses's work in Ireland, with a portion of proceeds being donated to Women's Aid. The artist hopes to visit Dublin in November 2011 in conjunction with the 16 Days of Action.
Flora Mini Marathon
Thank you to all the women who participated in the Flora Women's Mini Marathon 2010, despite the poor weather, this bank holiday Monday, raising sponsorship for Women's Aid.
