Women's Aid recently spoke with St. Fergal's Resource Centre in Bray, Co Wicklow, to find out how they used the 16 Days of Action to highlight the issue of violence against women in their community. We hope that you will learn from the experiences, challenges, and successes they share here.

The People's Project in Greystones join National Balloon Action

Greystones Family Resource Centre, "The People's Project", are inviting all in the community to the national Balloon action in Solidarity with Women's Aid.
On Thursday 24th November form 10:45am at our Dr Ryan's Centre, Kenmare Hts, Greystones,Co Wicklow for a Balloon Release at 11:00am, which will also be attended by the local media.
Followed by a speaker from the Bray Women's Refuge and a Light lunch to finish off.

Today marks the first day of the 16 Days Campaign and there are lots of events taking place all around the country;
Women's Aid launched its National Balloon Action today with the release of 200 balloons outside Dail Eireann at 11am. The balloons were released in solidarity with the one in five women in Ireland experiencing domestic violence. Today also saw the launch of the Women's Aid online virtual balloon release . Details on how to launch your own virtual balloons are on www.womensaid.ie
The Women's Aid National Balloon Action was mirrored across the country with groups participating in nearly every county including Wexford, Mayo, Clare, Galway, Wicklow, Tipperary and Carlow.

Greystones Family Resource Centre 16 Days Campaign

Greystones Family Resource Centre is taking part in the Women's Aid National Balloon Action Campaign to highlight the one in five Irish women living with Domestic Violence. Arklow CDP Balloon Release and Refreshments

Arklow CDP will take part in the Women's Aid National Balloon Action on 25th November in solidarity with the one in five women living with domestic violence. This will take place at 11am at the town bandstand on Main Street.
Afterwards you are cordially invited back to the centre for refreshments - 28 Lower Main Street.
