Visit Carlow Women's Aid Centre during their Open Day November 25

Carlow Women's Aid is a voluntary organisation providing support and information for women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence and abuse in the home or close relationships.
They are holding an Open Day at their Centre on Friday 25th November 12 - 2.20pm to mark the beginning of the 16 Days.

Day 1: Roundup of Events

Today marks the first day of the 16 Days Campaign and there are lots of events taking place all around the country;
Women's Aid launched its National Balloon Action today with the release of 200 balloons outside Dail Eireann at 11am. The balloons were released in solidarity with the one in five women in Ireland experiencing domestic violence. Today also saw the launch of the Women's Aid online virtual balloon release . Details on how to launch your own virtual balloons are on www.womensaid.ie
The Women's Aid National Balloon Action was mirrored across the country with groups participating in nearly every county including Wexford, Mayo, Clare, Galway, Wicklow, Tipperary and Carlow.

Amber Women's Refuge Benefit Concert

A gala concert is being held on Sat 27th November in St. Canice's Cathedral in aid of Amber Women's Refuge. The concert starts at 8pm and performers include Noirin Ni Riain & Amen, Eve O'Connor and The Unity Singers so come along and have a great night out. Tickets are €20.00 and further information is available from St. Canice's Round Tower, Kilkenny.

Carlow Local Area Network - Calendar of Events

On the 25th November 2010 Carlow Women's Aid will launch the start of the 16 Days of Action Campaign by hosting a tea/coffee drop in at lunch from 12pm to
2pm.
The 2nd December 2010 at 9.45am will see the annual march take place from Shamrock Square, down Tullow Street and finishing at the Cathedral Parish Centre.
There will be a minute's silence followed by the release of balloons in memory of the 166 women who have been murdered in the Republic of Ireland since 1996.
The march will conclude with everyone invited to the Cathedral Parish Centre for tea, coffee and light refreshments.

Bagnelstown Family Resource Centre's 16 Days events

The Bagenalstown Family Resource Centre in Co. Carlow are hosting a coffee morning and Avon party to mark the 16 Days of Action campaign. The centre will also take part in the Women's Aid National Balloon Action on 25th November in solidarity with the one in five women living with domestic violence.
